Home organisation with Masons Home Decor

If you have been following my blog for awhile now, you’d know that I’ve been a Marie Kondo convert since 2016. Ever since I read her book the life-changing magic of tidying up in 2016, I re-organised my entire house and basically changed my habits. I also started to be more acutely aware of what I liked after going through all my things.

Fast forward a few years later and I’m in another house but essentially things haven’t changed much because I still keep up with the habits I had formed earlier. I try to keep my table tops as clear as possible, keeping only things that are absolutely necessary for my daily use there. For other items, I store them in the cupboards or containers. My personal preference is to use clear containers or frosted ones because I find that those blend in better with the surrounding decor.

When Masons Home Decor offered me six of their Drop front shoe box for review, I immediately agreed even though I have an built-in shoe cabinet. Obviously, I wasn’t thinking about shoes when I agreed because I knew I could put such a versatile container to other uses.

Dimensions: Width: 29 cm, Height: 19 cm, Depth: 36 cm

These boxes are easily assembled and are stackable. With the Easy-StackTM  Grooves, you can stack the boxes to your desired height without fearing that the tower of boxes would collapse on you should you take something from the middle.

I also like that the box has a classy frosted look but has a clear, easy click drop down door function for easy access and view. The Easy-OpenTM Hinges are manufactured to be so steady, you would not need to be too careful to fear them breaking.

If you intend to use them for shoe storage, you’d be glad to know that these boxes come with built in ventilation holes to deter bacteria growth, and it fits footwear up to size Men’s US 13.

There are many imitation products out there so it’s best to buy the Drop front shoe box directly from Masons. If you would like to see the actual product before making a purchase, you can pop by 39A Jln Pemimpin #03-01C, Halcyon Building, Singapore 577183, Mondays to Fridays, from 11 am to 5 pm. The shoe boxes are displayed there to demonstrate what a perfect storage solution they can be.

So here’s how I’ve tidied up my house in a jiffy with these versatile gems! I kept one box for myself while three went to my daughter and two went to my son. Here are some before-after shots. The boxes came at a great time, considering it was nearing the end of term and a good time to start clearing up stuff to get prepared for the next term. I’m a teacher, so I’m used to viewing blocks of time in relation to which part of term it is. 😀

Shifted the piles of library books lying near his bed to one of the boxes while some of his soft toys went into the other.
Overhaul of the entire ledge area – so much neater and accessible now!
Less clutter, more space to work
