Having fresher, cleaner air for our loved ones at home is definitely a priority, especially when they have sensitive noses/ airways. I actually already have one air purifier at home which I had reviewed earlier. But I was eager to try out Starke Living’s air purifier because it is wireless and so much more portable, thereby offering more possible scenarios for it to be used.
Not just functional, the Starke air purifier can definitely be part of a stylish setup in your living room. Measuring 16*16*26.8cm, its effective range is 10-15 square metres. There is a leather strap which is packed separately in the box (don’t accidentally bin that!) for you to attach to the air purifier to make it easy to carry around with you.
After the first recommended charge of at least 3 hours, I carried the air purifier easily (only 1.25kg!) to my daughter’s room at night:
The picture above shows the air purifier with the night light on, a function which you can choose, so there’s no need for another night light for your child when it is in use. Placing it next to my daughter’s bed turned out to be slightly disturbing for her so she shifted it to the foot of the bed, on the ledge where it was left on till the next morning. In an air-conditioned room, the sound of the air purifier right next to her seemed to be amplified. She did not complain of any sounds after she shifted it.
At the start of its use, the battery life was 100% as shown in the display screen. The next morning when I checked it about 10-11 hours later, the battery left was 52%. This means that if I intend to use it again later at night while she sleeps, I ought to have it charged.
The charging is simple as it uses a USB cable. When the air purifier is not in use, you can just turn it off with the switch at the back. Because it is so light, wireless and portable, it can be used anywhere you want, even in the car.
Some of the important features:
- Able to disinfect and sterilize with the release of negative ions to purify the air
- 360 degree full air circulation
- 3 types of filters (Primary Filter, Activated Carbon Filter, HEPA Filter)
- Automatic & Manual Mode available for Wind Speeds
- USB fast charge with Type C
- Smart LED display of settings, ambient air quality and battery life
Key specifications:
- Battery: 10000mAh, 37W (estimated lasting time 20h)
- Purification level: H13
- CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate): 56.8m3/h
- Noise level: <52.3dB
- Negative ion concentration: 8000000 pcs/m3
- Effective Range: 10-15 square meters
Overall, I really like the Starke air purifier because of its convenience. Being wireless is definitely a plus point because you never have to worry about having to plug it in somewhere for it to function. The only downside I feel is its effective range is not very big. But if you are using it in a bedroom, bathroom, car or not a big living/dining room, that should not be an issue. The houses these days in Singapore aren’t particularly spacious anyway. 🙂
Available in white/ grey, the Starke air purifier is retailing at an affordable price of S$150.
