Steamboat delivery with Steamboat King

We love having steamboat for dinner, especially on chilly evenings (well, who doesn’t?). Steamboat dinner is simple, comfort food that warms the stomach. But sometimes the effort to boil the umami soup and prepare the quality fresh ingredients can be quite a hassle so why not have that delivered? After all, since the Circuit Breaker, we’ve come to discover that almost anything can be delivered.

Best in Singapore has an article that recommends the Best 8 Steamboat Deliveries in Singapore, so we checked out the Steamboat King which is at the top of their list. Plus, during the CB, one of my friends also highly recommended them. So we went ahead and ordered the Steamboat King Bundle B for 3-4pax.

What it includes:

Here’s what we got, exactly as described:

You don’t even need to have a hot pot – you get a free portable stove set with purchase of any hotpot bundles. The stainless steel set includes an alcohol stove and a 14-cm hot pot. The given fuel will keep the hot pot going for about 1.5 hours. All you need is a lighter to start up the fuel.

We opted for the Pork Tonkotsu Soup (1.5L) and the Sichuan Mala Soup (1.5L).

For steamboat, the soup base is highly important. Each of the superior broth by Steamboat King is simmered on low fire for a minimum of 8 hours daily and uses only premium ingredients. This cooking process brings out the ultimate flavours of all herbs and ingredients while also retaining its natural nutrients. In fact, the head chefs who came up with the recipes for the broths have over 30 years of culinary experience.

I like that the soup comes in containers with spouts for easy pouring and minimal spill. The setup of the steamboat experience was fairly quick. We washed the hot pots, poured the soup in and lit the fuel. It took a few minutes before the soup came to a boil, so meanwhile, we checked out the ingredients.

The red dates and wolfberries came in small containers like the one above for the condiments. The vegetables were clean and fresh and we really like the way the food is packaged – tightly sealed, spill-free. Each order comes with the Signature Sauce Set. We used only 1 set and I saved the other for another day.

The toman fish slices were fresh and the fish paste was also very tasty. So was the meat, especially if you do enjoy the fats on the pork belly.

Overall, we were super stuffed and we couldn’t finish everything that night. I kept some vegetables and the fried beancurd skin roll plus a packet of pork tonkotsu soup, which I cooked for the next dinner. Our kids really loved the pork broth. The Sichuan mala soup was delicious too, but not the super numbing kind.

So if ever you’re craving for steamboat and don’t really want the hassle of preparing for it, just order from Steamboat King! There’s even a 100% Guarantee Replacement if you find that the ingredients are not fresh. No need to slave over the stove to boil the broth or queue to buy the ingredients. Just a few simple clicks and wait for dinner! 😀 Thanks for another great recommendation, Best in Singapore!
