The creative face mask design competition entitled “I have the POWER” organised by Xepa-Soul Pattinson (“XepaSP”) and ADEZIO Allergy & Cold Relief is back!
Back in 2015, we participated in the competition and eventually won an art class. The mention of doing up the masks immediately brought back memories of how they went about doing their masks the previous time.
This time however, my little boy who hasn’t turned 6 yet, decided to sit out on this one since the competition is technically only for 6-12 year-olds. Thus I had some 1-1 time with my girl to discuss how she wanted to do up her mask this year.
She actually wanted to do up something for the eyes too, like a face mask, but I reminded her that the aim of this competition was to spread the community message (and not germs!) that everyone – even kids, can play a pivotal role in fighting against allergy, cough and cold.
The second installation of “I have the power” unique face mask competition highlights and aims to promote the importance and ownership of simple personal hygiene practices such as wearing a face mask when down with cold or cough, avoid sharing of food and remembering to wash hands regularly.
My girl eventually decided on doing something she’s never attempted before – to draw a design similar to adult colouring pages. With some reference to how some of these pages actually look, she drew her design on the mask template.
Well, fortunately for us, she chose the flower theme which meant that the flower printed on the template blended in nicely.
After that, she proceeded to fill it in with colours using the new Sharpies we bought.
Done colouring!
So lovely, don’t you agree?
She’s so independent these days with her own ideas and all, and I’m really proud of her creation!

4. Send a picture of the mask and pictures of your child wearing the mask along with the completed entry form to: contest.participation@gmail.com by 31 July 2017.
